If you are wanting to support the health and integrity of your skin, while reducing wrinkles and the signs of aging, Matryxil 3000 may be of great value to you. Matrixyl 3000 combines synthetic peptides together to form a single trademarked anti-wrinkle and anti-aging skin product. It is available both on its own, as well as in conjunction with other products. Matrixyl 3000 works at a deeper and more sophisticated level than other superficial treatments like Argireline and Botox, and provides therapeutic health benefits for the skin that will aid the prevention of wrinkles in the long term.
Ingredients
Matrixyl 3000 is not one ingredient, but two -- the trademarked product is the combination of two synthetic peptides, palmitoyl oligopeptide and Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, both created by Sederma. The first active peptide, palmitoyl oligopeptide, is made up of three amino acids binded to a palmitic acid chain, enabling it to be absorbed into the skin. Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 is slightly similar to palmitoyl oligopeptide, but contains one extra amino acid and has very different therapeutic effects when applied to the skin.
In addition to the amino acids, Sederma's Matrixyl 3000 product contains butylene glycol, water, glycerin, carbomer and polysorbate-20. While Sederma sells its own products, it also allows other companies to use its trademarked active peptides as ingredients.
Collagen Production
Palmitoyl oligopeptide has a marked effect on the production of collagen within the skin. The chemical structure of palmitoyl oligopeptide is similar to that of collagen when it becomes degraded by time and age; the presence of this seemingly fragmented collagen molecule fools local tissues into producing more, newer collagen proteins in the skin.
Non-independent studies have shown that palmitoyl oligopeptide significantly stimulates the activity of fibroblasts by as much as 350%. Fibroblasts are cells which control the production of collagen in the skin and other connective tissues. By supporting fibroblast activity, both palmitoyl oligopeptide and Matrixyl 3000 supports strength, thickness, and youth of skin cells.
Hyaluronic Acid Production
Matrixyl 3000 has demonstrated the ability to stimulate the production of hyaluronic acid in skin cells. Hyaluronic acid is an important component of all connective tissues. It provides moisturization of the skin, lubrication of joints, defends against free radical molecules, and helps to control the balance of collagen synthesis. When skin has adequate amounts of hyaluronic acid, it appears smooth and full. Both palmitoyl oligopeptide and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 actively stimulate hyaluronic acid synthesis, between the ranges of 100-327%.
Hyaluronic acid attracts water molecules to itself, meaning that Matrixyl 3000 and its ingredients work indirectly as a moisturizer, making the skin appear softer and healthier.
Reducing Wrinkles
Matrixyl 3000 is most often purchased as an anti-wrinkle product to reduce the signs of aging on the skin. Because of the active ingredients, palmitoyl oligopeptide and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, and their positive effects on collagen synthesis, hyaluronic acid production, free radical damage and tissue healing, Matrixyl 3000 may be a very effective and non-invasive treatment option for many people. In vitro and in vivo studies showed considerable benefit to the appearance of wrinkles following Matrixyl 3000 application, with wrinkle depth, density, width and surface area all significantly improving.
In addition, Matrixyl 3000 improved skin roughness and dryness, softening the appearance of the skin, and offered mild UV-A and UV-B protection. These studies were funded and conducted by the manufacturers of Matrixyl 3000, so more unbiased research is still required to confirm these findings. However, it is clear that Matrixyl 3000 works at a very deep level and may provide real results for the health and integrity of the skin.
Side Effects
If you listen to Sederma the Matrixyl 300 product is associated with very few side effects, but there is very little unbiased evidence to show what real risk of side effects and adverse reactions consumers are actually taking by using the product. According to Cellular Skincare RX, Matrixyl 3000 and its synthetic peptides are associated with fewer side effects than other natural treatments, such as the pre-vitamin known as retinol.
When compared to other more invasive treatments, such as Botox, it has to be concluded that Matrixyl 3000 is safer. One study conducted by the Technical University of Munich in Germany in 2004 found a product containing Matrixyl was associated with a higher risk of adverse side effects and allergic reactions compared to a Bepanthol lotion. No other independent studies have been performed on the safety profile of Matrixyl 3000, or its individual peptides.
