Amatokin Review

amatokin imageAmatokin is an anti-aging emulsion product developed by Voss Laboraties, containing special proteins that are intended to increase stem cell growth within the skin. Through increasing skin stem cell growth -- a process that slows down with aging - Amatokin claims to help to reduce both superficial wrinkles, deep wrinkles, and skin discoloration associated with the aging process. While some people might be put off by the marketing of "Steam cell breakthroughs," this product really only supports the body and its natural skin growth.

Amatokin Ingredients

While Amatokin contains a range of different ingredients, there is just one ingredient that the manufacturing company, Voss Laboratories, actually markets on their official web site -- polypeptide #153. This ingredient is a type of amino acid that is made up of 153 polypeptide molecules, and was reportedly discovered by the manufacturers in a Russian lab. Voss Laboratories claim that polypeptide #153 is "cutting-edge stem cell technology" that stimulates the production of stem cells in the skin, and helps to reduce wrinkles and aging. However, other active ingredients found within Amatokin are being kept close to the manufacturer's chest.

Amatokin Reviews

Customer reviews on the Amatokin website are positive, claiming benefits such as reduced wrinkles and softened skin -- with one person saying the product was worth getting a second mortgage to pay for it. However, other independent reviews are not so positive. The Melbourne Dermatology website claims that Amatokin has "no scientific basis," and that the company that makes it is fraudulent. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) -- following a complaint by Harley Medical group in regards to Amatokin's advertising -- stated in July, 2008, that the people at Voss Laboratories produced research documents that revealed the individual (and secret) ingredients in Amatokin did show good results in clinical trials.

But the ASA stated that none of the research they were shown was on Amatokin itself -- just on its individual ingredients trialed separately -- and the claims made in Amatokin's advertising are as yet unsubstantiated. The ASA concluded that while the ingredients in Amatokin showed good results, independent and unbiased research on Amatokin itself is still needed.

Pros

Amatokin and its active ingredient polypeptide #153 offer a way of stimulating the natural tissue regeneration of the skin, as well as improving its elasticity and tone. Stem cell production in the skin slows down with aging, and according to the Amatokin website, proteins in their product help to encourage the expression of new stem cells. Rather than just moisturizing skin, Amatokin claims to work on a much deeper level, and helps the health and youth of the skin as a whole.

Cons

Amatokin is an extremely expensive wrinkle cream and is surrounded by a great deal of intrigue and controversy. Despite customers paying large sums of money for the use of the product, they are not even told what all of the active ingredients are, or what the results of the manufacturer's own research have shown about the product. Customers paying this much money are entitled to more information. Currently there is no independent research on polypetide #153 or Amatokin that shows its safety or its effectiveness, and without knowing what other active ingredients are found in the product, customers are being asked to take a highly expensive leap of faith.

Final Thoughts

Prospective customers of Amatokin are advised to exercise caution when making their decision to purchase this product. While Amatokin might do what it claims, how can customers be expected to make a truly educated decision when a full list of active ingredients is not disclosed to the public? While stories of secret Russian laboratories might seem mysterious and alluring, If you suffer from sensitive skin, acne, eczema or psoriasis, I would suggest to apply a very small amount onto your skin before getting that second mortgage to pay for the product.
