Roc Retinol correxion is a French formula deep wrinkle night cream backed by Johnson and Johnson company, it is sold as a deep wrinkle cream that is to be applied at night. This product promises to make you look 10 years younger visibly reducing both fine lines and deep wrinkles. It promises to deliver smoother and younger skin.
Ingredients
This product lists over 20 ingredients including water and two types of alcohol. While Roc Retinol does not seem to contain any of the usual known anti-aging ingredients it does contain 2 exfoliating ingredients vitamin C and glycolic acid, two good moisturizers Squalene and Shea Butter and one highly worrisome ingredient BHT. BHT is a preservative used in embalming fluids and in the manufacturing of rubber, not an ingredient that would seem to be healthy for ones skin.
How It Works
You are supposed to put the Correxion cream on once or twice a day. You can use it in the morning or before bedtime and then while you sleep this product is supposed to revitalize your skin and start to make those fine lines and deep wrinkles disappear. You simply wash the Roc Retinol cream off in the morning and you are good to go. Within a few weeks you should notice those wrinkles just melting away and after a while you will look ten years younger. Or so the product claims.
While the price of this product is very attractive, being far cheaper than most anti-aging creams on the market, the real question is does Roc Retinol work as the manufacturers claim? To determine that, let us look at the good, the not so good and the negative aspects of this product.
The good aspects of Roc's Correxion is that it is good at exfoliating the skin. Exfoliating as you know, will remove the dead skin cells that make your skin look grayish and somewhat dry. In this aspect, ridding your skin of the dead skin cells can lead to your skin looking younger and smoother at least temporarily.
In addition, Roc Retinol's Correxion cream contains both squalene and shea butter which are great at moisturizing, which can leave your skin feeling less dry and smoother. However, neither of these ingredients will actually reduce wrinkles; your face may simply feel better.
On the bad side is the inclusion of BHT. This preservative is not a product that one would hope to see in any kind of skin product let alone one designed for use on your face. The inclusion of this ingredient could lead to some negative reactions on people with sensitive or even normal skin and seems like an incredibly harsh ingredient.
The reviews for this Correxion cream seem to be all over the board ranging from excellent to problematic. Many of the Roc Retinol reviews state that users find that their skin is becoming excessively dry and that Correxion has a smell that actually makes them ill.
Conclusion
While Roc's Correxion cream does seem to be a fairly good exfoliator, it simply can't live up to it's anti-aging wrinkle reducing claims. Roc Retinol seems to be an example of getting what you pay for. It's low cost seems to signify that you shouldn't expect much from this product.
