Hylaform Injections

Hylaform is a clear, purified gel created from hyaluronic acid, a substance normally produced by the body. It is a natural moisturizer that is responsible for keeping our skin supple, full, and younger looking. It maintains the skin’s moisture by attracting large amounts of water molecules. However, age and sun exposure leads to its deterioration. As a result, our skin appears wrinkled, dry, and sunken.

The synthesized hylarunic acid from Hylaform is comes from bred rooster combs. It is used as a dermal filler to restore a youthful look to the face. It adds volume and suppleness to smooth out wrinkled skin. Deep creases, furrows, crow’s feet, and a deeply pronounced nasolabial lines can also be removed with Hylaform injections. It makes the skin wrinkle free by providing volume under the wrinkled, depressed skin. As it is injected, hyaluronic acid rests under the skin where it attracts water that fills out the spaces in the tissue. How is it performed?

There are no allergy tests done prior the procedure. The doctor would proceed to mark the areas to be injected. After which he measures the exact amount of Hyla needed and he proceeds to inject it into the areas marked. Local anesthetics can also be used (depends on the patient) during the procedure.

How much does it cost?

The price range for Hylaform injections is $400-$800. It is more expensive compared to collagen, but it is cheaper than other hyaluronic acid dermal fillers.

Results

As with other dermal fillers, the result with Hylaform is immediate. You can see a smoother, wrinkle free face. But this is only temporary. The effect lasts 6 to 12 months, after which the body absorbs the synthesized hyaluronic acid. If you want to maintain the youthful, wrinkle free appearance, maintenance and touch ups are needed.

Complications and Risks

There is a relatively low chance for an allergic reaction with Hylaform however it is still not ruled out. Since the hyaluronic acid is bred from avian, those who are allergic to it can have allergic reactions. Infection is both a risk and a complication, especially if the procedure is not performed with proper aseptic technique. There is one risk though that is associated with Hylaform injections. You can develop granuloma. This is a growth of a mass (tumor) of lymphoids and epithelial cells brought about by a severe inflammatory reaction. Surgical intervention is needed for this.

Final Thoughts

Hylaform injection is one way of removing wrinkles, furrows, and creases. However, it cannot be denied that the procedure is expensive. It is expensive at the first treatment and the maintenance doesn’t get any cheaper. For a cheaper and more natural way to minimize wrinkles, an effective wrinkle cream is the answer.  One cannot argue which is more effective because Hylaform operates differently. It gives immediate albeit temporary results. Wrinkle creams take longer time to effect but it won’t be as pricey as dermal fillers. When you start early with effective wrinkle creams, your wrinkles won’t be as pronounced. They won’t be as deep and they won’t be as visible. As such, you won’t need any dermal filler at all.
